During July, we had fun dancing to three guest callers while our club caller John Sybalsky was on vacation. First was Scot Byars from Sacramento, next was Don Benson from Aromas, and last but not least, Eric Henerlau from Corte Madera. We also enjoyed the company of many guests from around the area as well as out of state who found time in their summer schedules to dance with us.

The third weekend in July, five Quads members attended a newer caller workshop put on by Rich Reel in San Francisco. Joe Dehn, Mary Gingell, Bill van Melle, and Kennita Watson participated as callers, while Pat Ho helped out as a dancer.

Also in July, John Flora took on the job of Round Dance Chairman for the SCVSDA's Jubilee coming up this October.

The first weekend in August, Joe Dehn, Mary Gingell, and Bill van Melle called (and danced) at the Santa Clara County Fair. Caroline Fifield, Gary Hinze, and Pat Ho also helped keep up the tradition of "Dancing at the Fair", despite the difficulties created by the fair's new, more limited schedule.

Our next big event is our annual hoedown. We hope to see many of you there on 24 September at St. Andrew's Methodist Church in Palo Alto! We'll begin with a half-hour of pre-rounds, followed by two and a half hours of Plus, and then a full hour of Advanced and Challenge star tips!

We have scheduled our fall class to begin in October -- singles, couples, teens, and families are all welcome to join us on Sunday evenings to learn APD Plus. No previous experience necessary, of course -- but current dancers who would like a review are also welcome.
